It’s your first time designing a class session on your own, where do you begin? In this workshop, participants will learn the process for designing an effective class session, including considering the context, setting learning objectives, and making a lesson plan. Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss how to address common challenges that can occur, such as managing class time and adjusting activities that don’t go as planned. This workshop is applicable to a variety of teaching contexts including lectures, discussions, labs, and studios.
This workshop will take place via Zoom. A link to the Zoom session will be sent out with the reminder email the day before the workshop. Attendees must participate in the entire workshop to get credit towards any department or program requirements.
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Shaina Rowell, Assistant Director, The Center for Teaching and Learning.
Registration will be available from this page about 2 weeks before the workshop date.
