Students come to our classrooms from widely varying educational, economic, and cultural backgrounds. These unique characteristics shape student identities and are fundamental to creating a rich educational environment. But how do we ensure that all students in our classrooms are heard, valued, included, and respected during class? Participants in this Foundations in Teaching workshop will learn about the different identities and backgrounds that comprise our classrooms and discuss effective strategies for reaching all students during the classroom experience.
