For teaching-focused positions, it’s common on the academic job market to be asked for “evidence of teaching effectiveness” or a “teaching portfolio.” In this workshop participants will identify key components of a teaching portfolio and discover appropriate structures and organizational strategies for their teaching related documents. Participants will also examine approaches for effectively framing their teaching experiences and teaching-related qualifications so that the portfolio provides a clear narrative that communicates evidence of their commitment to teaching.
All workshops will take place via Zoom in Spring 2021. A link to the Zoom session will be sent out with the reminder email the day before the workshop. Attendees must plan to participate in the entire workshop in order to get credit for attendance towards the Professional Development in Teaching Program.
This series is only open to advanced graduate students (in their third year or beyond) and postdocs. Should you need to participate in this program sooner, please contact Dr. Meg Gregory, Assistant Director, The Center for Teaching and Learning at email@example.com.
