MCAT Prep

Will set you up for success by:

Providing a facilitated learning space for study planning, problem solving, and discussing test-taking tips and tricks.

Academic Year Prep Programming

The Learning Center no longer offers a structured, fee-based MCAT Prep program. In its place, we offer free weekly drop-in hours, open to all WashU-affiliated test takers and facilitated by a peer mentor who performed very well on the current version of the MCAT.

Aside from a weekly CARS passage that all attendees will work through as a group, drop-in hours are entirely unstructured and informal, with students free to stay for as long or as little as they wish, and to utilize the sessions according to their current needs. Looking for a space to work through problems (individually or with your peers)? A time to work with a mentor on developing an MCAT study plan? An opportunity to discuss test-taking strategies? An accountability group to make sure you’re staying on track to be ready for your test date? Drop-in hours can help!

Drop-in hours typically start in Week 3 of the semester, and weekly hours and locations are posted on our mentoring calendar (use either the Courses or Event Types filter to view all upcoming MCAT sessions at once).

Other resources

Practice Exams: At several points during the academic year, we will reserve a computer lab for a day for any test takers who would like to take a practice test and simulate the experience of a testing lab. (Please note: the Learning Center will not be providing the practice test itself, just the space.) Dates for those practice tests will be posted on our mentoring calendar. If you would like to be notified when a practice test date has been finalized, email learningcenter@wustl.edu.

Study Group Finder: Submit a response on our Study Group Finder form if you’re interested in joining an MCAT study group or adding new members to an existing group!

Tutoring: While the Learning Center does not offer private MCAT tutoring, we can try to connect you with current and former WashU students who are interested in tutoring. Email learningcenter@wustl.edu with any questions.
