Residential Peer Mentor

Amari Herndon-Goodman

How I Can Help

I’m great at breaking concepts down into bite-sized pieces. At the end of the day, calculus is just another form of problem-solving, and I can help you build a toolbox of strategies, so you know exactly what to use and when. Whether you prefer step-by-step breakdowns, struggle with applying concepts you already know, or just want to explore new ways of approaching problems, I'm happy to help!

Bio

Hi everyone! My name is Amari, and I’ll be your Calculus III mentor this year. I’m a junior majoring in Planetary Science with a minor in Geospatial Science. Outside of being a proud math nerd (hopefully that’s comforting!), I love reading, skating, and exploring the outdoors.

Why I Mentor

I juggle a lot across campus, so I know how important it is to get clear and useful information quickly. While I personally love calculus, I also know that for many students it can feel like a big hurdle—especially when it’s just one of several major requirements. On the other hand, maybe you’re excited about diving into the details and seeing what makes calculus so fascinating! Wherever you’re coming from, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.
