Facilitating Inclusive and Engaging Classroom Discussions

Event Description

While as faculty we hope to engage student learners, facilitating a true discussion in the classroom is one of the most challenging aspects of teaching with active learning. In this workshop, participants will examine strategies for structuring a successful, inclusive discussion and consider ways to move beyond instructor-student-instructor patterns of response. Participants will also review a variety of question types and discussion structures that are likely to spur different kinds of productive student engagement.
