This community will focus on select components of a free online six-week course offered through the Inclusive STEM Teaching Project. This is the third time that we have offered this learning community in partnership with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

Note: Although STEM is literally in the title, the content is not exclusive to courses that we consider “STEM”. It is true that the examples in the course itself are all STEM-based but in our local community we can work together on the challenges faced in other disciplines as well.

The six-week course is designed to advance the awareness, self-efficacy, and ability of postdocs and graduate students, to cultivate inclusive learning environments for their students. Participants will engage in deep reflection and discussion around topics of equity and inclusion across a variety of institutional contexts. Asynchronous online activities within edX will be extended through a synchronous learning community facilitated by Lisa Kuehne from the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
