Event Description
Metacognition, or the process of being aware of your own thought processes, is a useful strategy to leverage in the classroom. Numerous learning science studies have indicated that incorporation of metacognitive strategies in the classroom increases student gains. Participants in this workshop will learn about the effects of metacognition on student learning, examples of classroom focused metacognitive practice, and how to design activities that invite students to engage in metacognitive practice in the classroom.
