Applications open for CTL Educational Development Grad Fellows
We seek CTL graduate fellows to join our team, working together to further CTL programs and services at WashU.
Overview

The center promotes inclusive, evidence-based pedagogy, develops teaching-focused collaborations among campus partners, and strives to create a transformational educational experience inside and outside the classroom.
Looking for an opportunity to work this semester?
This spring, we are interested in hiring a fellow to support the IGNITE facilitation team.
In this role, you would work with the IGNITE team to facilitate the learning community meetings. Ideally, you would shadow one meeting and co-facilitate another as part of the training. You would also have the option to join the Fall 2026 fellows team.
Besides the qualifications listed below, this position has these additional preferences:
- Learning Community Experience (EPiC Completer or past IGNITE participant)
- Teaching Experience (has completed at least one MTE or the equivalent)
- Interest in continuing as a Fall 2026 fellow
- Available to attend 3/17 an 4/21 meetings (12-1:30pm, online or in person)
Application Deadline for IGNITE position: 5:oopm on Friday, Feb 20
Looking for an opportunity to start work in the fall?
The CTL is also seeking 3-4 graduate fellows who will extend our current work of facilitating and improving programs and services that facilitate teaching and learning at WashU beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. These positions would start in Fall 2026 with an option to continue in Spring 2027.
Application Period: Rolling, with preference given to those received before 5:00pm on Friday, April 3
Opportunities for fellows include supporting graduate student programming, data analytics projects, co-facilitating CTL workshops/virtual conversations, community building initiatives, developing just-in-time teaching resources, designing a new classroom observation protocol, and publishing scholarship of teaching and learning. Importantly, the CTL facilitators will work with fellows to provide them with projects that align with their professional goals and help them gain experience in the field of educational development. The fellows will work closely with CTL staff members who will serve as mentors on particular projects.
We seek to hire a diverse team to build on the work started by the previous fellows. Learn more about the 2024 cohort here, and from the first cohorts here. All graduate fellows will have the chance to work independently but will also be expected to collaborate on some projects as a team. Hence, graduate fellows will be selected not only on their own expertise but also based on how they complement the expertise and experiences of other fellows.
The current grad fellows would be happy to answer questions about the role. You can learn more about their experience here: What’s it like to be an Educational Development Fellow?
