Teaching in Turbulent Times

Facilitator:

Dr. Rick Moore, Associate Director of Faculty Programs

  • 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Danforth Campus
  • In-person

Event Description

Teaching during times of conflict and crisis isn’t easy. Events such as the war in Gaza, campus protests, the U.S. election cycle, and others can readily overshadow coursework. What can you do when events in the world intrude on events in the classroom? What are some strategies to support students while keeping your course on track? How can you do all of this and still take care of yourself?

In this workshop, we’ll discuss strategies for responding to current events in the classroom regardless of the subject of your course. Participants will come away from the event with concrete ideas they can use no matter what outside challenges upcoming semesters might bring.

For questions about this event, contact Rick Moore.

Please note that this workshop will take place in person on the Danforth Campus.
