How to Download the Secondary Stream of Your Video

Kaltura videos with camera and screen capture have a parent stream and a child stream. These are separate videos that are not combined outside of the Kaltura player. If you would like to download the child stream, you will need to take these additional steps:

  1. Go to the Kaltura My Media page in a Canvas course.
  2. Click the pencil icon next to the desired video to go to the edit page:

    ↳ This is also where you see the download icon  in the top right corner.
  3. Select and copy the Media Entry ID to the right of the video:
  4. Go back to Kaltura My Media and paste the Media Entry ID in the Search My Media field, then hit Enter:
  5. You will now see all video streams associated with the video- parent and any children. Choose the video stream you want, click the pencil icon to edit, and click the download icon in the top right corner:
