Teaching with AI: What do grad students and postdocs need to know?

Call for Applicants to Join the Relaunch of the Graduate Student and Postdoc Advisory Council

Help shape future CTL programming for grad students and postdocs!

The CTL is happy to reintroduce the advisory council for graduate student and postdoc teaching development. This reimagined council will consist of 10-15 graduate students and postdocs from across the university representing the interests of professional and doctoral graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Meetings will be held every 3-4 weeks throughout the year with the goal of sharing recommendations to the CTL regarding existing and future programming for the GSPD community in May 2026.

This year’s focus is “AI Literacy for Graduate Students and Postdocs”.

Each meeting, the council will explore a particular aspect (e.g. AI Fluency, Ethics of AI Usage, AI as Teaching Tool, Addressing AI in Job Market Materials). There will be time for hearing from current practitioners, reviewing topical material and discussing practical approaches the CTL can follow to support the GSPD community. Learn more about the new structure of the council meetings. (add link to page with updated content)

We are looking to build a team with varying levels of teaching experience and genAI exposure to represent the general GSPD community. Under the guidance of CTL staff, the council will work together to educate themselves on current issues as they draft and revise recommendations for future programming.
