Education and Technology Summit in October at Saint Louis University

The School of Education & Consortium for Technology and Human Flourishing at Saint Louis University (SLU) is hosting an Education Summit on October 19, 2019 from 9 AM to 3:30 PM at SLU. The summit, “Future of Education: Rethinking Literacies and Learning for the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” features keynore speakers Ryan L. Schaaf, co-author of “A Brief History of the Future of Education: Learning in the Age of Disruption,” and Matthew T. Lee, Director of Empirical Research in the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University.

The summit will bring together a group of though leaders representing different disciplines so educators can begin the process of rethinking literacies and learning for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Given the advent of technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine learning, and the rising rates of mental health issues, it’s imperative that instructors begin to rethink what it means to “educate” students.

Panel discussion topics at the summit include the impact of AI, machine learning, and other technologies on teaching and learning, and well-being literacy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
