Applications open for Fall 2025 CTL Educational Development Grad Fellows
We seek 2-3 CTL graduate fellows to join our team, working together to further CTL programs and services at WashU.
Overview
The Center for Teaching and Learning advances WashU’s mission of educational excellence by supporting a diverse community of teachers and learners. The center promotes inclusive, evidence-based pedagogy, develops teaching-focused collaborations among campus partners, and strives to create a transformational educational experience inside and outside the classroom.
To this end, the CTL is seeking two graduate fellows who will extend our current work and develop new programs and services that facilitate teaching and learning at WashU. Opportunities for fellows include supporting graduate student programming, data analytics projects, co-facilitating CTL workshops/virtual conversations, community building initiatives, developing just-in-time teaching resources, designing a new classroom observation protocol, and publishing scholarship of teaching and learning. Importantly, the CTL facilitators will work with fellows to provide them with projects that align with their professional goals and help them gain experience in the field of educational development. The fellows will work closely with CTL staff members who will serve as mentors on particular projects.
We seek to hire a diverse team to build on the work started by the previous fellows. Learn more about the current fellows here. And from the first cohorts here. All graduate fellows will have the chance to work independently but will also be expected to collaborate on some projects as a team. Hence, graduate fellows will be selected not only on their own expertise but also based on how they complement the expertise and experiences of other fellows.
Qualifications

- Current graduate student at Washington University
- Interest in and commitment to enhancing teaching and learning practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Collaborative team player who can work with diverse teams and groups
- Prior experience and familiarity with existing CTL programming
- Prior or current experience as Assistant in Instruction
- Ability to commit an average of 5 hours per week from mid-August – early December
- Preferred: Interest in extending fellowship into Spring 2025 and beyond
- Preferred: MTE Orientation completion and at least one MTE experience
Logistics
- Up to $2000 stipend (paid hourly)

- Fall term contract, with option to extend to Spring 2026
