Call for Proposals – Fall 2023: Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum Teaching Gallery

 

 

The Teaching Gallery is an exhibition space in the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum dedicated to presenting works from the Museum’s collection with direct connections to Washington University courses. Teaching Gallery installations are intended to serve as parallel classrooms and can be used to supplement courses through object-based inquiry, research, and learning. Calls for proposals are typically sent out a year in advance (see below timeline), but instructors are encouraged to contact the Museum with proposal ideas.

TIMELINE

Fall Installation

Submissions open: mid-February
Deadline to submit: mid-March
Notification: last week in March

Spring Installation*

Submissions open: early August
Deadline to submit: early September
Notification: mid-September

Summer Installation*

Submissions open: mid-December
Deadline to submit: end of January
Notification: early February

*Please note that the Teaching Gallery program for spring and summer is offered every other year. Graduate students teaching summer courses are welcome to submit proposals.
