“Do I belong here?” Oftentimes, this is the first question students ask themselves when they are in new and unfamiliar academic environments. Students’ answers to this question are critical because welcoming learning experiences in the classroom can encourage students to persist in their STEM majors and bolster their science identities. In this workshop, we will discuss evidence-based strategies that can foster student belonging in STEM college classrooms.
