Strategies for Incorporating AI into Pedagogy: A Nuanced Approach

Event Description
We all have questions about AI and education: Does it serve a relevant purpose in our teaching? Are students actually learning if they use AI? What research has been done to help us make decisions about our approach?
Join us as we attend an online CIRTL workshop* that proposes “strategies for integrating AI into pedagogy, such as inquiry-based learning, scaffolded assignments, and competency-based approaches” as a group. This discussion is open to all, regardless of your current viewpoint on AI in education. We will spend some time getting to know each other, then actively participate in the workshop together, and end with a guided discussion about the experience. In particular, there will be time to share your ideas regarding professional development in teaching for the WashU GSPD community that supports “deeper learning, creativity and human-centered innovation”–with or without AI.
