Funding Available to Attend Teaching Professor Conference
The Office and the Provost and the CTL are sponsoring attendance for 10 WashU faculty to attend the conference which takes place June 5-7, 2026 in St. Louis
The 23rd Annual Teaching Professor Conference takes place June 5-7, 2026 here in downtown St. Louis. The conference, organized by MAGNA Publications, has a strong reputation within the teaching and learning community. This year’s conference features a variety of breakout sessions as well as plenaries by well-known educators Michael Wesch and José Antonio Bowen. Dr. Wesch’s talk is titled “Undisciplined: How Great Teaching Breaks the Rules and Re-Enchants the Classroom” and José Antonio Bowen, co-author of Teaching with AI, will speak on “AI Literacy and Liberal Education.” The conference is a great opportunity to increase your pedagogical knowledge, reflect on your teaching, and engage in cross-disciplinary conversations with other faculty from around the country.
The Office of the Provost and the Center for Teaching and Learning are pleased to sponsor up to ten WashU faculty to attend this local event. They will cover the registration fee ($799). Participants and their departments are responsible for any other costs incurred through attendance (e.g. parking, meals, etc.). Funding recipients will be encouraged to attend a post-conference debrief with other WashU attendees on Zoom, when possible (date and time TBD).
WashU instructors of any rank may apply. Selections will be made to ensure a broad range of representation (schools, ranks, experience, impact). After selections are confirmed, conference registration will be managed by the CTL.
