New AAAS Course on Course Design
Teaching Center staff have recently worked with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to create an online course, Designing an Undergraduate STEM Course. The course was developed by Gina Frey (Executive Director and Florence E. Moog Professor of STEM Education, Chemistry) and Beth Fisher (Director of Academic Services).
This course helps participants learn a student-centered framework for designing an undergraduate STEM course that may be applied at different institutions and at all levels of undergraduate learning in STEM. Topics include understanding your students; defining goals for student learning; selecting and organizing content; designing assignments, assessments and teaching methods; and reflecting on and refining your course.
This course is available to members and non-members of AAAS. For more information, please go to the AAAS website.
