Inclusive Teaching Strategies Cards

A fanned deck of inclusive teaching cards

Designed to teach instructors inclusive teaching strategies, the Center for Teaching & Learning created this deck of cards to facilitate discussion. This game-like approach leverages a deck of cards that lists various inclusive teaching strategies that instructors might consider using when developing or refining their course.

This deck is based on a set of cards developed by the Center for Teaching Excellence & Innovation at Johns Hopkins University and modified for use with WashU’s campus and culture.

Physical card decks of the WashU Inclusive Teaching Strategy Cards can be obtained by contacting the CTL. Pdf versions of the cards can be downloaded using the links on the lefthand side of this page.

Each card offers an evidence-based strategy that can aid in making a course more inclusive.
