Bio

Natalie Monzyk (she/her/hers) joined the Center for Teaching and Learning in July 2024 as Assistant Director for Educational Technology. Prior to coming to WashU, Natalie worked as a faculty member in the English Department at Saint Louis University, where she also completed her Ph.D. in English with a minor in Gender Studies. In her role, Natalie enjoys helping instructors to create inclusive, interdisciplinary, and engaging environments for learners with wide varieties of experiences, backgrounds, and goals.

Throughout her career, Natalie has taught at a range of other public and private institutions, including Missouri State University, Maryville University, and St. Louis Community College. She has developed and delivered courses in composition, rhetoric, literature, gender studies, business and professional writing, and the medical humanities. Natalie also holds certificates from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign in the Foundations and Applications of Instructional Design and from the nationally-recognized Quality Matters program, which emphasizes quality assurance and assessment for online and hybrid learning environments.
