Students Report High Stress with Course Workload: The Chronicle
Students across the country have reported stress-related issues regarding course workload, and WashU faculty who have worked with the CTL have reported similar concerns. In an article from the Chronicle of Higher Education (free to access if you log in from a WUSTL account), author Beth McMurtrie explores this challenge and interviews Betsy Barre, Director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching at Wake Forest University. Dr. Barre developed the Course Workload Estimator–a useful tool that helps faculty measure how much time their assignments will take students to complete. You can access the tool here.
