CTL at POD 2025: Showcasing WashU’s Leadership in Educational Development

At POD 2025, CTL educators showcased the innovative teaching and learning work happening at WashU.

Several CTL staff members recently shared their work at the POD Network’s annual meeting, held this year in San Diego. The POD Network is North America’s largest educational development community, represented in every U.S. state and more than 30 countries, and the conference offered a wonderful opportunity for our team to connect with colleagues across the field.

Anna Cunningham contributed to a thoughtful panel on Navigating Transitions Across Institutional Contexts, reflecting on her own recent move from Arizona State to WashU. Elina Salminen and Lorien Carter led an engaging workshop, The Role of Faculty Learning Communities in Transforming Learning, drawing on their experiences facilitating WashU’s CEILE program. Eric Fournier presented a research poster, Persistent Challenges, Enduring Wisdom: Exploring a 1920 College Teaching Book. Research for the project and the poster design was supported by two talented undergraduates from the Global Studies Research Methods course, Nora Jarquin and Gitanjali Raghava. Finally, Denise Leonard concluded a four-year term as Chair of POD’s Graduate Student, Professional Student, and Postdoctoral Scholar Development (GPPD) special interest group, marking a significant contribution to the broader educational development community.

Congratulations to all on your hard work and on this exciting opportunity to represent the CTL!
